A federal court upheld New York state’s ban on store displays or sales of elephant or mammoth ivory and rhino horn. The Art and Antique Dealers League of America and Art Dealers Association of America started the action in 2018. The dealers plan to appeal. The law prohibits sale of items made of more than 20 percent ivory. Federal and state laws are different, punished with large fines.
