A Shenandoah Valley, Virginia blanket chest sold for a world record price of $356,500. The yellow pine blanket chest, dovetailed, with wrought iron strap hinges, and paint decorated by Johannes Spitler, sold at a 2015 Jeffrey S. Evans auction in Mt. Crawford, Virginia.
