A taxidermy mounted Passenger Pigeon was donated to the Ohio History Center. The bird was shot in Michigan and given to the donors’ grandparents who had it mounted. There are other Passenger Pigeons in museums in Europe and the United States, the only reminder of the birds after the last one died in a zoo in 1914. Some of the stuffed birds were part of Victorian decorations kept under glass domes.
