Superman Comic-Book Cover Art
The earliest known original Superman comic-book cover art sold for $286,800 at a Feb. 21 Heritage Auctions sale in New York City. The art was used as the cover of Action Comics #15 (August 1939). The artist, Fred Guardineer (1913-2002), illustrated comics from 1937 to 1955.
