Refinished Furniture

If museum quality furniture of the 18th and 19th centuries was refinished in the past 300 years, the value has been lowered. The major concern of high-end collectors is condition, especially original finish. Damage, paint loss, and missing pieces lower the price. Provenance, the history of the piece, is also important. Connection to a well-known figure, family or event adds to the price.
