Prices were higher than expected at many auctions last year. Silver jewelry made by Picasso with the help of his dentist sold at a Skinner auction in Boston. Each had an estimated value of $15,000 to $18,000. A Satyr pendant brought $153,000, a silver Claude pendant was $92,250, and a Sun pendant auctioned for $141,000. A Viktor Schreckengost Lady Godiva charger made in 1936 brought $75,000 at a Rago auction in New Jersey. It had over 14 stickers from various exhibitions glued on the back of the plate. And Asian art has been going up and down in price, but at the March sale at Clars in California, it was up.
