Use vintage plates at parties, but select the plates to complement the food you’re serving. Green foods like salads look best on yellow plates, beige foods like chicken on dark black or brown plates. Tomatoes and rare beef are red, so the best plate to use is white. Yellow foods like corn should be served on blue dishes. Stylelist Home suggested the plate colors. We think only very wealthy or very serious collectors could have enough plates to use this way.
