Prices for George Ohr pottery have gone down in the last five years. The large, unusual pieces with pink glaze are still going for thousands of dollars, as are large (more than 10 inches high) pieces with unusual shapes, snakes, odd handles or glazes. About 8,000 pieces by Ohr were found in an attic in 1972, and since then, other pieces sold by Ohr have been located. Ohr pottery is difficult to copy, but vases have been “enhanced” with new applied snake decorations and colored glazes and sold as original. The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi, Mississippi, has information and a display of the pottery.
