Occupied Japan collectors have rediscovered items to look for. Crown Jewels of the Wire, April 2015, the magazine for insulator collectors, has an article written by a Western Australian collector. It pictures and describes insulators, yards filled with discarded insulators, and 10 different makers’ marks that include the words “Occupied Japan.” We’ve never heard of the O.J. insulators in the United States. After World War II (1947 to 1952), the Japanese used these words to mark exports. It seems logical that the Japanese shipped them to Australia which is much closer than the United States.
