A preschool teacher bought high-priced luxury handbags in at least 12 states with 16 different credit cards then returned knockoffs she had made in China and Hong Kong. She swindled over $1 million with this scheme and was rich enough to have a Lexus, hundreds or real luxury handbags and to stay in high-end hotels while traveling. Some of the stores that were victims are afraid they may have sold the false bags to other customers at the original’s high price. The clever swindler was sentenced to 33 months in jail, and she must sell her assets to repay what she stole.
