A new book features unusual collections. Included are Danish Modern wooden pepper mills, all types of salt spoons, dice of all ages and sizes, 19th-century tin cookie cutters, full-figure silhouettes, black basalt teapots, 1920s-’80s toasters, and playing cards, but only the ones with designs on the back printed in red. Each collection included many examples, enough to display as a group on shelves or tables. The new book, Collected: Living with the Things You Love, is by Fritz Karch and Rebecca Robertson. Are collections of figurines, lady head vases, cookie jars, plates or plastic purses out of style?
