Ivey Selkirk Sold

Garth’s Auctions of Delaware, Ohio, has purchased the assets of the company that operated Ivey-Selkirk Auctioneers of St. Louis. Ivey-Selkirk, which traced its history back to 1830 when it was founded by Ben J. Selkirk, closed last spring following a series of complaints from consignors who had not been paid after their pieces were sold. Amelia and Jeff Jeffers, who own Garth’s, plan to open a second gallery in St. Louis. They’ll call it Selkirk Auctioneers and Appraisers.
