During the past year, 1950s furniture and accessories were more expensive and 1960s and ’70s furniture was a less expensive choice for a new home owner. Paintings and decorative pieces by ’60s and ’70s artists are still low priced but should gain in value as they become better known. Surprisingly, some things are back. Egyptian and Greek designs are seen on new chairs, and obelisks and pharaoh’s heads are even seen on new jewelry. New kitchens are considered best if they have marble counters. The importance and durability of marble seems to have made marble top tables of all ages more popular and higher priced.
