Someone got a bargain according to The Hobstar, the journal of the American Cut Glass Association. A piece of cut glass was listed as “a remarkable antique American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl dating to the early 20th century,” with a comparable price of $450. It was in “overall very good condition—consistent with age and use.” The three-sided bowl, 9 1/8 by 9 7/8 by 3 1/8 inches opened for bidding at $205 and sold for $2,775. Several collectors realized it was a piece of Libbey’s Marcella pattern.
