Butter Molds

Butter molds carved from wood are popular 19th century examples of folk art at antiques shows and auctions in the U.S. In Canada you may see similar vintage items but some are maple sugar molds. Common ones used for maple sugar candy have the traditional round shape with a border of points. Rare examples show a beaver.
