While removing items for a future auction, an auctioneer at a small English auction gallery found a life-size bronze head of a cat with a gold earring in its ear. The house was being emptied and the cat was almost thrown away. But the auctioneers took the bronze to the British Museum where it was declared it was an Egyptian figure, made about 664 to 525 B.C. Estimated at $7,500 to $15,000, it brought $92,320 at auction.
