Almost a bargain bottle. A “Clasped Hands” half-pint flask listed in an auction catalog with the McKearin number G-XII-42 instead of its correct number, G-XII-42a, was estimated at $300 to $500. But knowledgeable bidders saw photos of the bottle in the online catalog and pushed the flask’s sale price to $4,928. At the same American Bottle Auction Auction, a rare Durham Whiskey fifth dating from 1876-82 sold for $13,440.
