Q: I have a Royal Copenhagen pickle dish I want to sell and I’d like to find the current price for it.

A: Royal Copenhagen porcelain has been made in Denmark since 1775. The company is still in business. Your dish is part of the company’s Flora Danica line decorated with hand-painted wildflowers and plants. The designs are based on illustrations in a botanical encyclopedia commissioned by the king of Denmark in 1761 and finished in 1874. The first pieces of Flora Danica porcelain were made in 1790. The designs on early pieces were painted by the artist Johann Christoph Bayer, who had also worked on the encyclopedia. Flora Danica is still being made by Royal Copenhagen. Plates similar to yours, in perfect condition, have sold for $490 to $1,000.
