Q: I have a four-inch Cactus tumbler that looks like it is either iridescent or white carnival glass. It’s not marked. Can you tell me who made it?

A: Some things can only be identified if seen in person. Your Cactus tumbler might be Greentown glass, which was made by the Indiana Tumbler and Goblet Co. of Greentown, Indiana. Cactus was pattern No. 375, which was first shown at the Pittsburgh glass exhibition in January 1902. Most pieces were made in chocolate glass, but some were made in canary, clear opalescent, Nile green, and blue semi-opaque glass. Reproductions have been made. Fenton also made Cactus pattern glass in many colors from 1959 to 1961 and again from 1978 to 1982.
