Q: I have had this embossed self-framed tin sign advertising Grape-Nuts for several years. It is 30 inches high and 20 inches wide. Can you tell me what it’s worth?
A: Grape-Nuts cereal was made by C.W. Post beginning in 1897. The slogan “There’s A Reason” was first used in 1910. Your self-framed sign was made in about 1915. Value: $1,500 to $2,000 if its finish is original. But the paint on your frame looks new. If it was repainted, the value drops by more than half. Enjoy the sign. The first antique we bought was another example of this Grape-Nuts ad. It has hung in our breakfast room or hall ever since. We always wondered what the slogan “There’s a Reason” meant.
I have this exact same design on a wood plank,I seen where one just like mine sold for a $1000 in 2005 and I would REALLY like to know if and how I can get it appraised.
I have an Eastman Kodak Kodascope, Model 25 film projector. The Patent Pending date on it is 1932 & it is in very good condition. Anyone know anything about it & what it might be worth, if anything?
I have a wooden lid used to send Grape-Nut cereal in it. It has the same picture but does not have “There’s a Reason” on it. The picture has blue in it but there is no red on the picture. I’m guessing it is older than this picture. I was wondering how much it’s worth and where to sell it. Thanks
Here’s an interesting story about C.W. Post who invented Grape-Nuts and has a town in Texas named after him.

I thought most of the old signs back in the 1910’s to 1920’s were made of cardboard. How far back did they make tin signs. How do they hold up over all these years. I always heard that the old sporting signs were cardboard.
“There’s
a Reason”
You may have small care
for what the reason is, so
long as your food really
supports your brain and
keeps it healthy, active, and
a money maker.
But when signs of nervous
prostration set in you
want to know why you can
get help, sure, from
Grape-Nuts
Words on the pkg. give the
reason one way. Your own
brain tells the reason in a few
days after you begin its use.
