Q. I recently bought this majolica compote for $8 at a yard sale. There are several marks on the bottom: a raised oval containing what looks like a suspension bridge and the letter G, a painted “A,” an incised “M” in a circle, and a number. I’ve been trying to find age, maker, and real value (surely more than $8). Can you help?
