If your attic has been used for storage for the past 30 years or more, it probably holds some valuable holiday collectibles. Christmas ornaments, figural light bulbs, tree holders, cards, tinsel, Halloween papier-mâché pumpkins, skeletons, costumes, candy containers, even Fourth of July banners, lacy valentines, or fireworks package labels, are eagerly collected. The prices paid for old Christmas ornaments are astounding. Do your homework. Look at the books and websites about holiday collectibles. There are six or seven fine books published years ago with color pictures, descriptions, and some price information. There is also price information in the annual general price lists like Kovels’ Antiques & Collectibles Price Guide and on Kovels.com.
