Typewriter

Typewriter collectors divide typewriters into two main classifications: the index machine, which has a pointer and a dial for letter selection, and the keyboard machine, most commonly seen today. The first successful typewriter was made by Sholes and Glidden in 1874. It could type only in caps and introduced the QWERTY keyboard still used today.
