Piano Baby

Piano Baby

Piano baby is a collector's term. About 1880, the well-decorated home had a shawl on the piano. Bisque figures of babies were designed to help hold the shawl in place. They range in size from 6 to 18 inches. Most of the figures were made in Germany. Most of the piano babies date from the early twentieth century. Reproductions are being made. Other piano babies may be listed under manufacturers' names. For more information, explore our identification guides for bisque, dolls, and German pottery and porcelain
