Dorchester Pottery

Dorchester Pottery

Dorchester Pottery was founded by George Henderson in 1895 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. At first, the firm made utilitarian stoneware, but collectors are most interested in the line of decorated blue and white pottery that Dorchester made from 1940 until it went out of business in 1979. Even in the 1970s, automated machines were not used; pieces were hand-formed and hand-dipped, and handles were applied individually.
