Creamware

Creamware

Creamware, or queensware, was developed by Josiah Wedgwood about 1765. It is a cream-colored earthenware that has been copied by many factories. Wedgwood used cobalt in the glaze on the cream-colored glaze to change the cream color to a bluish white. Similar wares may be listed under Pearlware and Wedgwood.
