Mercury Glass

Mercury Glass

Mercury glass, or silvered glass, was first made in the 1850s. It lost favor for a while but became popular again about 1910 and again in 2010. Mercury glass is glass that is blown, is silver-colored from mercury or other substances, has silver between the layers, and then sealed. It looks like a piece of silver but it is a hollow glass piece with mercury coloring inside. It was copied again in the 1990s.
