A. Walter

A. Walter

A. Walter made pate-de-verre glass under contract at the Daum glassworks from 1908 to 1914. He decorated pottery during his early years in his studio in Sevres, where he also developed his formula for pale, translucent pate-de-verre. He started his own firm in Nancy, France, in 1919. Pieces made before 1914 are signed Daum, Nancy with a cross. After 1919 the signature is A. Walter Nancy. A. Walter, whose first name was Almaric, lived from 1870 to 1959.
