Metal Cookware

Pots and pans made of cast iron or enameled tin (often called graniteware) were manufactured before 1900, and they are still made today. Other twentieth-century pots and pans were manufactured of copper, tin, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel, and combinations of these materials and others. Since 1960, nonstick coatings like Teflon have been used.
