Washing machineQ: We have an old wooden washing machine that dates from about 1900. My mother-in-law used it during the summer months on Isle Royale, a Michigan island in Lake Superior. My husband and his brothers had to take turns “making it work.” There’s a brass nameplate on it that says “Michigan Washing Machine Co., Muskegon, Mich., sold by Kelley-How-Thomson of Duluth, Minnesota.” The wringer is marked with the number “591.” The machine still works. We would be interested in knowing more about it.
