Wash art glass in lukewarm water with some mild dishwashing soap.

Green-colored corrosion is sometimes found on old costume jewelry. It will spread if not removed. Clean with a mixture of a tablespoon of vinegar, a tablespoon of salt and a cup of hot water. Rub with an old toothbrush or a nylon scouring pad. Dry completely with towels and a hairdryer set on cool.

One way to remove the musty smell from old furniture drawers: fill a small plastic container with white vinegar, seal the container with its lid, then punch a few holes in the lid. Leave the container in the closed drawer overnight or longer.

You may be able to rejuvenate dirty suede or cloth shoes by lightly sanding with 000 sandpaper. Then rub with a cloth dampened with vinegar.
