As we promised last month, here’s information about some more fake beer cans. RustyCans.com keeps collectors updated on the most recent repros and fantasies showing up at sales or online. Two fake cone-top cans that regularly appear are one labeled “General Pulaski” and another called “Milwaukee Premium Beer.” They apparently date from the late 1970s and not the cone-top era, which started in the 1930s and tapered off over the next 20 years.

Another fake can that’s been selling to naïve collectors is one that’s sometimes offered, correctly, as a “fantasy,” which means real beer cans like it were never made. This 12-ounce can is colorful and titled “Neptune Lager” at the top and “Beer” at the bottom. It pictures Neptune, the Roman god of water and the sea, holding his trident and riding a chariot. Neptune was considered the creator of the horse and the inventor of chariot races.
