Chrome items in the Art Deco style became popular in the 1930s. Chrome, because of its strength and good color, was used in modern furniture during the 1950s. Collectors are most interested in high-style pieces made by the Connecticut firms of Chase Brass & Copper Co. and Manning-Bowman & Co.
