Pickard Pickard

Pickard China Company was started in 1893 by Wilder Pickard. Hand-painted designs were used on china purchased from other sources. Pickard developed a process to cover much or all of a piece with gold in 1911. It was called the Rose and Daisy pattern and continues to be popular. In the 1930s, the company began to make its own china wares in Chicago, Illinois. The company now makes many types of porcelains, including a successful line of limited edition collector plates.
