Ispanky figurines were designed by Laszlo Ispanky, who began his American career as a designer for Cybis Porcelains. In 1966, he established his own studio in Pennington, New Jersey; since 1976, he has worked for Goebel of North America. He works in stone, wood, or metal, as well as porcelain. The first limited edition figurines were issued in 1966. Ispanky's pieces are in some of the world's most famous collections including The Smithsonian Institute, The Brooklyn Museum, Buckingham Palace, and The Vatican.
