Flow Blue Flow Blue

Flow blue was made in England and other countries about 1830 to 1900. The dishes were printed with designs using a cobalt blue coloring. The color flowed from the design to the white body so the finished piece has a smeared blue design. Designs on the flow-blue plates include oriental motifs, floral patterns, romanticized landscapes, and historic events. The dishes were usually made of ironstone china. More Flow Blue may be found under the name of the manufacturer.
