Florence Ceramics |
|
|
Florence Ceramics were made in Pasadena, California, from World War II to 1977. Florence Ward created many colorful figurines, boxes, candleholders, and other items for the gift shop trade. The best-known figurines were men and women in nineteenth-century clothing, inspired by Godey's Lady's Book and Old Masters' paintings. Each piece was marked with an ink stamp that included the name Florence Ceramics Co. The company was sold in 1964 and although the name remained the same, the products were very different. Mugs, cups, and trays were made.
