Lindbergh was a national hero. In 1927, Charles Lindbergh, the aviator, became the first man to make a nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1932, his son was kidnapped and murdered, and Lindbergh was again the center of public interest. Lindbergh went to the Pacific area to advise the United States Army and Navy in 1944. He died in 1974. All types of Lindbergh memorabilia are collected.
