FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CLEVELAND – Aug 22, 2010 – Kovels.com today released its list of the most searched for items in its price guide for July 2010. For the first time this year, Occupied Japan fell from the top spot. Furniture climbed to the top of the list and Jewelry took second place.

Kovels.com receives hundreds of thousands of searches every month thanks to its renown as the most accurate antiques and collectibles price guide online. The top searches list works as a barometer, showing trends in the market.

1.   Furniture
2.   Jewelry
3.   Occupied Japan
4.   Clocks
5.   Coca-Cola
6.   Depression Glass
7.   Toy
8.   McCoy
9.   Lamps
10. Advertising

Furniture was the number one search in July; this is partially a result of increased movement this time of year. Many families move over the summer to get ready for the new school year. They’re looking for bargains and interesting pieces to furnish their homes or apartments. As a result, many are buying from flea markets and antiques shops –some for the first time. These buyers check prices in Kovels.com to help them understand the market better and make educated purchases.

The Kovels.com price guide can be used for a wide range of purposes. However, people primarily use it to estimate the value of their possessions or to determine what the price should be of items they’re buying or selling. While these 10 items were the most popular among Kovels.com price guide users in July, this does not necessarily mean that other antiques are becoming less popular.

Accredited media interested in discussing the content of this release or any topics related to antiques and collectibles are encouraged to contact Terry Kovel at pr@kovels.com to schedule an interview.
