So we inherited a lot of Denby dinnerware (thought to be 40s-70's). I am having some trouble finding any Denby-specific forums and information on valueing it. Ebay a little help but not much. Can anyone point us in the right direction to getting started determining if any of these many pieces have value? Many thanks!

One of the best way's I find is the web site "Google images" then type in Denby dinnerware and they have several pages and pattern's from many sites. Find your specific pattern or one very close to it. Also try replacement dinnerware sites. I could not find any price guide books on Denby. The company has books but it is probably a catalog that you can get on their very own website. Good Luck!

Thanks for all the replies and assistance. The stamp shows Denby England and here is a shot of the silverware. We still have to go thru a bunch of dinnerware boxes. More pictures to follow. My wife believes it all very valuable (ie worth much time itemizing and selling on ebay). Im not convinced the time and effort are equal the work that will be involved and lean more toward donating to a collector ;^) value is always relative to the buyer - juts want to make sure we dont actually have a few sought after pieces as we begin to open all these boxes.

Your wife is correct, Denby is hi quality and very expensive.Re: silverware I can see that selling easily. Two teaspoons sold for $12.00 recently. You would probably get more money by selling in small lot's.Here where I live there is stores that will put your items on sites and sell it for you at a percentage if you don't want the hassle. Another option is an consignment auction or an atique dealer. Last resort is to donate it like Goodwill who have a selling website of their own or a church that has rummage sales. Maybe someone else has thoughts,or would like to buy it. Good Luck!

Thaks for the replies. I live with a borderline haorder and would like to get rid of it ib bulk, not a fork at a time over 20 years. Already tired of stepping over it in the garage - and we have a bunch more boxes coming in of dishes, serving trays, etc...

Hi, I don't want to get between you & wife, My answer is see a auctioneer, Your wife get's money,you get rid of it. You might be suprised what it will bring & auctioneers only take 25% where I live. It sounds like you have tons of it. A auctioneer is the answer and be sure and involve your wife in talking to the auctioneer. They will even pick it up for you.
