I have this set of china that I have not been able to find on the internet. May be from the 70s or 80s. (picture of one of the plates attached). I don't think it's worth a lot but most of the set is in great condition. I might want to get some replacement pieces or sell at a flea market. Anyone know it? It has the Quaker Girl, Salem OH 23krt gold mark on the back and on the front it may be a painting of Nantucket or some other island.

Hi, I have several articles on Salem china, Most of the info is 1940-50ties patterns. I would like to see the back stamp to try and date it. Does it say Quaker Girl on back? They made a pattern called Pioneer Maid and Tilling the Soil. Your right about one thing, Dinnerware for some reason is a very hard sell unless you can buy it cheap and sell it cheap. I personally have a hard time selling complete old dinnerware set's at flea markets. Now if it's corelle that's a sold.

Have lot's of info for you! Your set was made first 6 mth of 1956 (***56 U) under stamp. There was 3 differnt stamps of Quaker Girl used from 1952-67 as promotionl dinnerware.They made many different patterns using these 3 stamps. In Short your set is not a quaker girl pattern name. I still think it is Tilling the soil". Notice man holding fork or rake in field? I hate to use the word "rare" but your set was not a big seller when new. Most women back then wanted flower's etc. As far as value i don't know if the demand is there for this pattern. I could not find any like your pattern at all ,not even on replacement websites. Your dishes were made in Salem,Ohio so I would'nt know if thats nantucket island. I have several 100rds of books that I started buying new and at auctions several years ago. This info came from American Dinnerware, Harvey Duke pottery & porcelian and my "bible" Lehners U.S marks on pot. por & clay by Lois Lehner.
