Worthless? 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I have this old figurine but I really don't know its provenance or date of birth. Can anyone give me a clue, please? It is a mystery, I have it from my paternal grandmother, born in 1911, she was a collector of antiques in her youth. I don't even know the material - porcelain, chalkware or plaster or something else. It is heavy, glossy, brightly colored, approximately 30 cm tall. It has numbers imprinted on the bottom side - 24 - 65 - 10. Thanks.

I can't help you with this one. It looks like Europeon. Chalkware or plaster usually isn't glossy. It could be weighted as to why its heavy. Is it worthless? Of course not. He's cute.

This is exactly what I was thinking. It is cute and it is vintage or old. Thanks for letting me know your opinion

i have to agree with Carolyn. it looks very European. can't really make out the workmanship of your piece from this pic. we specialize in Chinese antiques but one piece of advice i can give you is this- in order for a piece to be worth heaps of $, workmanship has to be really good, if not excellent. age is a bonus. this is why some new porcelain pieces can fetch more than the older pieces. hope that helps

Thanks, I understood. I have a few other old items but now I know that people are interested in good quality products, they prefer new ones without defects. I don't intend anymore to sell my products.
