I’m developing a price theory regarding watch purchases that I will use with my wife but want to try it first:
“Watch relativity theory”
Hypothesis to test:
Do watches have different characteristics vs other products, making them less expensive than the retail price paid?
Observations examples:
You buy a nice bottle of perfume; pay the retail price; use it; throw away the bottle; 100% of the price paid was “consumed”
You buy good clothes, maybe a good looking suit; use it, after a few years is dated or is not wearable or you just don’t want to wear it anymore; throw it away or donate it; 100% of the price paid was “consumed”
You by a high-end TV, top notch laptop, or a really nice camera; after 6 months to 1 year it’s dated; prices drop; you use it till it breaks / buy a new model; 100% of the price paid was “consumed”
