A Chinese porcelain brush pot by a 20th-century artist received bids that reached $534,300, including buyer’s premium, at Clars Auction Gallery in Oakland, Calif., on Feb. 17, 2013. It was estimated at $6,000 to $8,000. The artist, Wang Bu (1898-1968), is popular and his work has been getting high prices. The blue and white brush pot is 6 1/2 inches high. The auction house is waiting for payment.

along these lines can someone tell me where to get info on what appears to be a brush pot made out of bone and beautifully painted. I posted in the forum section and am new to the site – i cannot figure out where the post is or if anyone responded. Thanks
I don’t think the so called experts really know what these things are worth- 6-8k and it sells for half million. The buyer most likely bought for client and it really sold for alot more. There was drawing by William Alexander that sold for about 2 million in 2012, the estimate from the well know Auction House was in low thousands.
I would love to know what the artist’s mark/signature looks like.
