Pottery & Porcelain Marks – Crown & Circle Or Oval: Marks of crowns & circles or ovals usually show a crown inside of, on top of, or attached to the circle or oval. The circles or ovals are often made out of lines or letters, and wreaths are commonly shown with the crown. Crowns and circles were first used in the 19th century, crowns & ovals in the 20th and 21st centuries. Occasionally, these marks show the name of the city or country where the porcelain was made, but most are shown with the company name or initials.
