Decorate for Easter with vintage candy containers like this pair of papier-maché rabbits. They are 10 inches high and were made in Germany in the early 1900s. They sold together at a Virginia auction for $270.

Little figural glass containers that originally held sugar candy are sought-after collectibles. Candy containers have been popular since the late Victorian era. They were intended as gifts, but were often used as table decorations long after the candy was gone. Collectors favor containers made of glass, tin and papier-maché. Thousands of designs were made into the 1960s but by the late 1970s, reproductions were being made and sold without the candy. Many 20th century containers are copies of candy containers from the late 19th century. Today most candy containers are made of plastic and they  are collectible too.
