P. Lorillard Snuff Jar
Q: My wife and I have an amber fruit jar similar to the one you wrote about in the “News Flash” column of the February 2007 issue of Kovels newsletter. That jar sold for $27,500. The glass lid on our jar reads “Patented January 18 1876” in the center and “Philada Pa July 16 1872” around the rim. “P Lorillard Co.” is embossed on the bottom of the jar. Can you tell us if our jar is as valuable as the one you wrote about?
