A wide selection of decorative arts, furniture, rugs, and fine art will be sold at Gray’s July 31st, 2012 Summer Auction. The auction features an array of decorative arts including a bold and colorful Terre de faience pitcher by Pablo Picasso from 1953, a large Meissen Porcelain Figural Group ca. 1760 entitled “The Card Players”, and a vibrant collection of glassware and paperweights. Furniture highlights include a George III Mahogany Breakfront Secretary Library Bookcase, ca. 1760s, and a selection of wrought metal furniture such as the Diego Giacometti Inspired Wrought Metal and Bronze Table with Bronze Horse Head Decoration and Walnut Top. The sale will start with a selection of abstract works by the Pennsylvanian artist Nathan Dunn (1896–1983) and will conclude with an inspiring assortment of rugs, in particular an impressive 20’ x 13’ Tabriz wool rug. The auction will take place in the auction showrooms at 10717 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio at 11am on Tuesday July 31.
