Schoenhut Circus: Item of the Week

Who doesn't love a summer evening under the Big Top when the circus comes to town? Children of all ages enjoy Schoenhut's classic Humpty Dumpty Circus toys, too. The Humpty Dumpty Circus was made by A. Schoenhut and Co. from 1903 until the 1935 was one of the most popular toys of the early 20th century.

This Schoenhut "Humpty Dumpty Circus" set from the early 1920s sold at a summer James D. Julia auction for $1,440. The canvas tent stands 23 inches high and 24 inches wide. The set includes five poseable performing figures, five "painted eye" animals and seven accessory pieces all in its original box.
