This is the year for Olympic posters to go up in price. The first official Olympic poster was created for the 1912 Stockholm Summer Games. Based on a design by Swedish artist Olle Hjortzberg (1872-1959), it pictures a male athlete holding a set of swirling national flags. Any early original Olympic poster designed by an important artist and in great condition can sell for $25,000. One serious collector owns more than 3,000 different posters valued at well over a million dollars.
